TRAINING GROUPS
At MIST, our training groups cater to swimmers of various skill levels and experiences. We focus on placing swimmers in groups that align with their physical, mental, and emotional maturity, ensuring they are both challenged and supported in their swimming journey.
Group Placement
We prioritize placing swimmers where they feel challenged yet not discouraged, ensuring they race alongside peers of similar ability. We use a flexible progression model which means that:
Younger children may be in higher-level groups based on individual progress.
We emphasize that each child progresses at their own pace, with no rush to advance.
The decision to move up a level involves careful consideration from coaches, parents, and swimmers alike.
Note: The groups below are for our year-round competitive swim team. These are NOT swim lessons. Please review the prerequisites for each group. If you’re new to the team, you must schedule a tryout by emailing millcreekswim@gmail.com prior to registering so we can ensure proper group placement for your swimmer.
